As a nation they do love the breed, and a tough looking bulldog, much like this one, was often used to portray the United Kingdom in World War II propaganda, in fact Winston Churchill was often referred to as the "British Bulldog", possibly as a result of his unusual looks, but lets attribute it more to his feisty unflinching demeanour
